Located on the cliffs looking down over the Morfil ocean, Blueway is a relatively poor district whose main sources of trade come from the ocean on their doorstep. Wind and salt corrosion has caused damages to many of the homes here, and the few that are still perfectly intact are owned by the families that pass for wealthy here. The leadership of this district is chaotic and disorganised, and battles for power are very commonplace. Many of the lowest ranks of the society here are very poor and sickly, and it is a dangerous place to live. The wealthiest are those who have control over the docks areas, particularly those with ships and the means to protect them.
People from the other districts tend to visit Blueway mainly for the superb seafood available here, but there is also a lively trade of fishing supplies and boats. There is also often a large number of traders from other kingdoms and other lands here, plying goods such as foreign spices, fabrics, animals and other wondrous things.
Places of InterestSeaborne Marketplace – The central hub of the Blueway trading area, Seaborne Marketplace is the perfect place to buy fresh seafood, fishing supplies and other water based goodies. There are also often several traders selling such things as pearls and decorative shells, and there are often traders from other lands selling rare, exotic and foreign goods. It is these strange traders that often lure people from other districts into Blueway.
Blueway Docks – The housing area for the fleets of ships that some of the wealthier people here own, the docks tend to be heavily guarded and the ships watched over day and night. Pirates and smugglers are often trying to raid this area, but the ship of a wealthy merchant makes for a very dangerous target.
Nerida's Blessing - Although there is no formal education system in Blueway, this small building is home to a gathering of elders who offer basic teaching in both traditional and magical skills in the name of Nerida. There is no fee to learn here but donations of food and supplies are very gratefully received and will earn a child special priority and attention.
The Cliff Face – Hundreds of feet high, the cliff face stretches from the sandy plains and shanty houses above down to the beaches, marketplace and docks that make up the bulk of Blueway below. A wide winding path picks down the cliff face, offering relatively safe travel up or down. The cliff face is dotted with caves and ravines, and is home to a vast number of sea birds, some of whom have very decorative or delicious eggs, if you have the resources to get to them.
